Setting up email accounts

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on adding an email directly on to your blackberry account vs setting up a blackberry email and forwarding your email accounts to the blackberry email?

We have started introducing blackberrys in our company, and when I talk to my supplier he says go the direct way, our IT department says the forwarding is better. We plan on getting a BES server that is a long ways down the road.

setting up a yourname@<hidden> will work, but those accounts are lost if you change carriers and can collect spam automatically with no filters in place.
