Having read the threads on the subject to try to remove the Blackberry signature from my Pearl 8120 I followed the instructions to set up a BIS account with my service provide (O2 in the UK). I correctly input the requested device PIN and IMEI. O2 however did not recognise these. The handset was purchased from Carphone Warehouse which (when I did not have access to the O2 Vendor Theme) that they sell 'generic' handsets not tagged to any network, Is this why I cannot access the BIS account or is there something I can do on the handset to remove the dreaded signature. Many thanks.
(P.S I resolved the Vendor Theme access issue by following the brilliant John Clark thread instructions)

If you have BIS service with O2, then you will be able to access it. It has nothing to do with buying it from Carphone Warehouse.

How do you receive you email, etc.?

I have a Yahoo.co.uk email account and can access this on the blackberry both via the 'messages' icon and a Yahoo Mail icon............

Then you have a BIS account.

Read this:

Also this is the o2 BIS (Blackberry Internet Service/Solution) webpage for setting up email or making changes etc. You should use the same username and password that you used when setting up from your device.

BlackBerry Internet Service (http://www.o2email.co.uk/)

BIS is the Blackberry Bolt on you got from o2 :)
