What do I need to do to have my 7100g identify who the incoming caller is. All of the calls that I have gotten were names and numbers posted in my address book. Why doesn't the ID show up on the screen. Same goes for outgoing calls. As long as the number and name is in the address book - it should ID who I'm calling.

Gosh - I hope not. I thought that was an easy question. I never herd of a phone (especially one as fancy and expensive as the Blackberry) not to show who the incoming call is from. I never experienced that before and it sure is a pain not knowing who is on the other end before answering.

As long as it shows a number when an incoming call is received, it should be able to align that number with a contact in your address book. The number being displayed is the Caller ID portion of your plan. The association with a contact is a basic function of the BlackBerry handheld.

Go to your Options then Security. See if Content Protection is enabled. If so, change it to disabled.

OK - here is another one I haven't been able to figure out. When I transfered my contacts from my old phone to my blackberry I had multiple numbers for one person - i.e. cell number, business, home number etc. Now in my blackberry phone book the persons name is listed three times with three different numbers and they are not identified as to what each number represent. Is there a way when imputing a number (new or old) to identify it with a symbol or someting to let you know.........."its his business number."

There is in the address book. You can list them under what type of number they are. Then when you go to call them it will list them with what the number corresponds too. Also, on the caller ID. I had the trouble for awhile when I first got mine. I had to pull my battery and reset it. They started showing up properly then. Not quite sure why though. Haven't figured it out yet..
