I am in a unique situation. My girlfriend lives very far away (2000 miles), and just got a new phone. As a surprise to her, I would like to set her alarm to be a custom ringer -- preferably something that was recorded as a voice clip (can the phone do that? I'd hope so) so that nobody has to mess with file transfers, etc. I am enlisting her roommate to help me complete this task, and neither of us are familiar with the phone.

Would anyone mind providing a step-by-step on how to do those two things:
[1] Record a voice clip
[2] Set that voice clip for an alarm

Thanks,
Zach

If the phone is 4.5 you can record your voice using the Voice Recorder in the blackberry.
If the phone is running 4.2 it probably doesn't have Voice Recorder and the only way i know is through file transfer X_x.

(To check what version you're running go to options and click About.)

If you do have a voice recorder,
Record what you want to have it say, go to the folder icon, click on it, change the
directory where it saves to ringtones. and name it what you call it
when you set the alarm just navigate to the voice recording.
