Just wondering if this is normal: when my wall charger is plugged in with my phone not charging it makes this excruciating high pitch sound (it comes directly from the wall charger). But then if I plug my phone into the charger, the sound goes away. Of the many phones I've had none has ever done this.

Any help would be great

Help? I would advise unplugging it.

Try another, if it doesn't do it, keep the new and trash the old.

120 volts is nothing something you want to take a chance on.

In fact I'd go so far as to cut the cord so nobody down the line tries to use it.

Always keep electronics unplugged when not in use. It eventually harms the transformer, not to mention wasted energy.

Would this be a warranty issue....I just got it about a week ago.

Thanks for the help

The high-pitched noise you're hearing is from the power electronics in the charger, possibly in the buck converter circuit (steps down DC voltages). I've had that happen to me on a crummy AC adapter for an all-in-one, so I vote trying to get it replaced.

if you've had it for only one week... I'd call and get this warranty replaced. They should do this free of charge.

Wow!! Never heard of a charger making noises. Must be really bad.
