"You will not use the service for: multi-media streaming;"

I found this - in the fine print of course.

Explains a lot. Bell is obviously doing it too. :x

Verizon used to have something similar to that in the fine print, but not any longer.

I saw it in the TOS. There is a difference about it being there and being blocked. Is it blocked or just in the TOS?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 11000 Colosol)

Holy smoke that's horrible. Was this always the case? Or did they just add that?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's related to this (http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008/08/28/tech-telus.html).

I've emailed all the major TV stations in Canada about this. Something has to be done with these thieves!

I could switch to Rogers in Canada for $115/month for 6GB of data... WTF??

I just talked to a tech at Telus. They confirmed that Telus doesn't 'support' streaming media.

He said some Telus users have successfully streamed to their Blackberries with a 3rd party app.

Anybody know what he's talking about.

Yes, $30. My mistake.

Ouch, my girl will be so very happy about this, with her new berry and no ability to get streaming radio.

My complaints to Telus staff on phone rewarded me with 50% off on my data plan, for 3 years!

FWIW Bell doesn't support youtube on the 8830 (with 4.5), but I can stream fine on my 8330 (either 4.3 or 4.5)

Sounds like either a.) their network sucks or b.) they just found a way of increasing their revenue stream.

Typical. Carries pushing smart phones and data plans as the future, but at the same time, limiting their true capabilities. Expect this to get worse with tiered services at extra cost.
