Upgrading nearly EVERYTHING...need some tips

Alright, my 8300 is fixed and nowI want to upgrade...what is the newest, best, and most solid OS? I was looking at that 4.6.whatever in the beta you than me section and people say it's really nice and solid...but can I use it on my 8300? If not...what's the best OS for my 8300? I have got everything else, just looking for a good OS...thanks.
