Problem with adding contacts on BB Messenger

Hi-

I've had my BB for a while now and some of my relatives got one each and wanted to use BB Messenger. I tried to add their pins through my contact list, but they stayed in pending forever, and no request ever popped up on their screen.

I have read through some topics and some people guessed that that meant that the other party didn't have a data plan. I thought part of the "Blackberry fee" you paid per month allowed you to use BB Messenger. They can not use the internet from their devices.

Anybody have any ideas on what the problem could be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If they don't have the BB Data Plan on their account, they won't have PIN messaging use, which the BBMessenger uses.

Try sending those people a simple PIN message (messages folder > Menu > Compose PIN), and if they can receive a PIN message, they can use BBMessenger.
