For the last 3 days my little send receive arrow has been going nuts almost non-stop and taking a toll on my battery
Any ideas why this is?

What BB do you have and what software do you have running?

Also, what specific third-party apps are you using, particularly those that may be requesting/receiving data on a pre-set schedule (i.e. stock updates every half hour, weather app that updates ever so often, etc...)?

Try closing down the open programs, one by one, to see if the arrows stop. I don't have telnav, but could it be that it is trying toget a GPS signal?

Pocket Day doesn't figure in? There was a discussion the other day about a possible connection between PD and "Arrow Activity". Updated software was posted.

Call it coincidence, but when I removed BBToday, mine quit going nuts.

All,

It's NOT a problem that's specific to any one application. It's something that's causing some latent bug in the BB to appear. Any app that does communication over the network could cause it to happen.

I agree but since I removed PD I havent had the issue so like km1966 may just be coincidence

I think it must be BB today weather
Or at least my best guess at this time

All...PocketDay 2.63 has been released. It will prevent the massive data activity issue. What I've done is insure that no BB communication stream (weather and stocks) can take more than 20 seconds. It will terminate the comms if it's taking longer. This will prevent the data usage and battery drain issue, but when this occurs, the PD weather and stocks will probably stop updating until you reboot.

Again, this is NOT a PocketDay issue, but some kind of latent BB OS issue that I've not been able to reproduce and demonstrate to RIM so they can fix it.

Had the same issue. Ended up being the Stock applet in BBtoday. Turned it off. All is ok. Didn't really use it, so didn't look much further.

Nice work, Mark! Now other 3rd party app providers need to follow suit.
