Open your Browser (press B), highlight WAP Bookmarks or BLACKBERRY Bookmarks, press track wheel and select GO TO. This will allow you to type in whatever page you want to go to.

This I do know thx....what I'm trying to accomplish is opening the browser to a blank page...? In the interest of saving time...because everytime I open the browser, it goes to my home page

Thats wierd because my browser doesn't open to a page at all. It only opens up to my bookmarks. I can then choose to go to the home page, whatever bookmark I want or click "go to" and type in a page.

tathepilot, are you on cingular?

I just switched to a 7290 on Cingular from a 7250 on Verizon.

I was used to getting the bookmark page that Concept talks about above, but on Cingular, the icon is for a "Cingular Browser", not "Internet Browser" like my old 7250. The "Cingular Browser" icon takes you directly to a Cingular WAP homepage.

The only option I can see is to change the Home Page Address under "Options" in the browser (by default, it is set to http://device.home). This still isn't the preferred solution in my mind - I would prefer the bookmarks page.

I don't see any way to set it differently on mine, but maybe it will at least help you to set a different homepage than Cingular's (?)

Yes I'm on Cingular....I'm aware how to set a different page....I was just wondering if there is a way to open a 'blank' page when I go to launch the browser

But I see you already knew that

yep. I think it is definitely a problem due to the way that Cingular sets up their browser.

Is there a way to load the standard browser onto our BB? I am using the latest TMobile OS update for the 7290 - even then, the Internet Browser is loaded onto the BB, but when I turn on the Wireless connection, Cingular drops that browser and updates it with theirs over-the-air.

Cingular does not 'hide' the regular browser in the main menu, either - I've checked.

<sigh>

That sucks for cingular BBs. Mine on T-mobile had two browsers. One was the T zones thing and the other was just the browser with a globe and two people icon. I just hid the t-zone one and use the browser.

Browsers come with the service book which will be from your carrier, Cing... You can look for 3rd party browsers or get BES with MDS...

Are there any free 3rd party browsers out there? (I think all of them involve some license fee, if I remember correctly.)

Hi, does anyone know how to change the homepage on the newly released Internet Browser Cingular released last weekend? I have tried and it seems the field that has their Cingular URL in the browser settings is locked down, I can't delete or modify it. Please help!

Im not sure whether this is what you need, but if you go into settings -> options -> browser, then set Internet as your default instead of services for your browser than you should get by. We had a user who couldn't access an internal mobile web page because he was using our carrier (vodafone uk) as the default instead of Internet (which i assume is generic)....
