would you give up your treo 650 (with small keys and what I call lack luster sound quality on phone) for blackberry 7100?

I would never have a Treo to begin with.

If the Treo actually worked without reseting, crashing, breaking etc., every five minutes, and needing to be replaced twice a week, and if it had real push mail, and if it had a mail and SMS interface as good as the 7100t, and if it had SureType and Autotext and Custom Word List like the 7100t does, and if it had a keyboard as great as the 7100t, I'd get a Treo.

if you enjoy people being able to hear you properly without major background noise, stick with the treo.

If calls aren't your thing, then the 7100 is FAR superior in terms of email.

just did that...no regrets....
a comment about the Treo, the palm OS is very stable and I enjoyed it very much..however the 'phone' component failed to deliver and was significantly below satisfactory....the BB7100 is in a whole different ballpark for phone quality....I hear the 7290 delivers as well....

kd not sure where you are by my callers have noticed a significant improvement since I switched...then again nothing tops my 8800 (Nokia) for sound... 8-)

I would. The treo phone is having a lot of problems and is actually involved with a lawsuit from consumers I think. I found this online.

Had dinner with a group of math nerds last week. There were two Treo 650s and my 7100g at the table. On Treo guy has a reset every day, the other says his is wonderful. I showed 'em the 7100, sent an email to the next table with suretype, and probably sold at least one BlackBerry. When I explained real time syncs on a MAC, the guy with the good Treo was real impressed.

If only the 7100 had the cool New York street map app. (type in street address and get the cross streets).....

I have been a dedicated palm user since the beginning. I just gave up my 650 for a 7100. Was forced to get one for work but I love it now.

I just did as well...

Hey guys i'm a converted Treo user by the way!

I just found out i'm more of a "Communication guy" than "data receptacle person" The difference between the two is the commmunication guy just wants to reach out and "be" reached while all info needed is within easy output/reference, the data receptacle guy wants most info in his basic life recorded and plotted in a single device (receptacle) available for use in specific situations and also "make constant changes" to them on the fly. The Treo is a great multimedia personal information device, but cumbersome to operate while in a pressing situation and the battery life sucks, but when you're needs are getting and being reached, nothing beats PUSH e-mail and the longest battery life possible! Bluetooth handsfree capability and third party messaging softwares added are a real kicker too! I AM HAVING MY CAKE AND REGURGITATING IT !

You can SMS Google for that info wherever you are --- directions, where's the nearest pizza, conversions, etc. Why clutter the device?

Read all about it here: http://www.google.com/sms/
