Password

Can anyone please help. I am new to blackberry and just purchased a second hand 8700. When installing the supplied software, I am getting prompted for a password. It says I have 10 attempts on handheld will be wiped. I have tried the password that I use when I switch the device on, but wont work. What password should I be using? Thanks.

What model is your BlackBerry?
Did you buy it used?

There is no default or workaround password. After entering it wrong ten times, the device will be wiped of all personal data, calendar, contacts, etc. There is no way around that.

If you have set a Password for the BB, then it will ONLY accept that password.

Its a 8700. Bought it used. The default password to use the device was used, and worked. But it wont work when syncing it to pc using the software. Not recognising any password I use.

Make sure you are typing the letters AND NUMBERS properly. It is the same password.

Still no joy. Thanks anyway. Next question. I dont seem to have a browser icon on my screen to enable me to connect to the net. Where would it be? Thanks.

It is a special plan that you need in order to get MMS, e-mail and the browser icon on your BlackBerry.
