I've heard that Rogers and presumeably AT&T will be selling the Storm in Q2 next year. Is it possible this is for these carriers and if so will it run on their 3G network?

What has passed the FCC so far does not have the radios for 3G in North America.

That is correct.

And, both the 9500 and 9530 have CDMA radios.

The 9500 has the slot for CDMA but as the FCC approval states "non populated"

the storm is a verizon/vodafone exclusive (for now). the 9530 will be verizon's device in the US. the 9500 will be gsm on voadfone's networks. There is also rumor of a partnership with a canadian company (rogers).

the 9530 will be like the 8830 and do cdma in the us and be cabable of gsm overseas.

if it will be available to purchase within the US, the GSM based 9500 will definetly have to find it's way into the US on various carriers, but expect to pay a pretty penny for that...we'll have to wait a while for this, but plans are to have it sell over AT&T Mid-2009, but that's not solid...don't count on T-mobile getting in on this with the release of the "Curve" 8900 formerly known as the Javelin in (apparently now) November 2008??? sweetness...

Why would RIM release the Storm to ATT before doing so to T-Mo, in the US? Wouldn't it make more sense to not release it to ATT since ATT carries the iPhone and the Storm is expected to be a good competitor and all - it seems to me that it would be a better idea to release it to another carrier...
