Storm Speed Dials

I stopped by my Verizon store after church today to try the new Storm. I set up a speed dial with ease and my question is this: Did we loose the option of assigning a speed dial to a letter and have to use only numbers? Great phone and keyboard!

You can only assign speed dials to figures 1 to 9 from within the phone app.

Gone are the days when you could press and hold a single letter from the home screen.

I'm in line to get a couple of Storms for myself and partner Friday. I loved the speed dial letter system, but it's not a deal breaker by any means.
