Catching onto wireless networks

In my country its the bloom of the internet hotspots, and I was wondering if my 8700c had the ability to log on to those if I happened to be in a place that provided free internet access (coffee shops, pizza parlors, even BK's offer it here)

I see the option that says ''Turn Wireless On\Off'' but I'm not really sure how it works.

So Wireless isn't the same as WiFi? Whoa! My eyes have been opened! What is the difference?

The transmission radio inside the BB sends and receives constantly. Some places like hospital ICU, airplanes, security buildings...do not allow the interference from radio broadcasts. The Turn Wireless ON/OFF function will allow you to use the smartphones' pda functions without transmitting radio waves.
