Internet and wifi connection - BB8820

Hi all.
I have two basic problems:

with connection to the internet from Google apps. or Yahoo!Go - I'm not able to use these clients because, during the initialization/installation process, the application inform me that I have no connection to the internet, even I downloaded them from internet.
with connection through wifi - I already read some info about routers etc. but what I don't understand is, that when I buy the BB, it was working without any problems, but after I installed new OS 4.5.0.52, it doesn't work even I downgrade the OS back.

I'd like to get any advice what it is necessary to set up in the system to solve these problems.

i had the same issue. i downloaded and installed but upon registration the BB looked for a data connection and failed to complete. even thou i had a wifi connection

these applications work with a data plan, and not on Wifi
