Will the storm work on tmo, w/o compromising any services. I am aware that TMO is currently working on service books for this device. I can get a really good deal on a storm=150.00 usd.

The Storm, in its current iteration is a CDMA device... TMO is a GSM provider... can't get there from here... until the GSM version is available.

The Storm will work on T-Mobile, but won't have all the Service Books (MMS, E-Mail Setup). It will work.

It is actually a CDMA & Quad-band GSM device with a 3G channel of 2100MHz. Unlocked it will work on any GSM carrier once you address the service book issue.

You will not get 3G on a North American GSM carrier. EDGE only.

well, I'll be danged... I knew it was a 'world phone', but understood it to not have the North American GSM bands (850/1900).

That's the 8830. The 9530 has all four bands.

ok this phone is unlocked and he put a tmo sim card in the phone, and it worked as far as turning on and displaying the tmo logo, but he did not get to play w it to see what worked and what did not work.

The problem is getting it unlocked. From what I have heard and read, it is still very difficult to unlock the Storm.
