8800 OS upgrade

My blackberry makes me a lot of problems lately. I cannot see my logs, it takes a lot of time to enter an application and a lot of errors appear.
I want to flash it, if that is the word. I want to delete everything and upload a new OS.
How can i do this, if this is the correct thing to do? If not is there any suggestion for any different action?
