No, Mail forwarding is generally to only one other email address.
Both BB's could send to the same email address.

Thanks

what happens if I configure both of them same gmail? I have not got the other bb yet, but it will be nice if both of them can access the gmail I have.

You can configure them both but Gmail will only allow one email address for forwarding.
check the options. So only one will get the forwarded emails

I am not sure I follow what you are saying.

We have a "family" email account that we use for appointments, and the email address is sent to my blackberry and my wife's. We can both reply from the same email address as well.

Added the email account to both BIS accounts and it has worked ever since.

I think they were referring to forwarding email from gmail to the device, rather than adding it via BIS accounts. If I read it right that is....

That was my confusion as well, but I didn't see the OP reference forwarding.

You can download gmail mobile via ota on both units and have the ability to access email no problem.

Should be able to integrate both BIS accounts as well. I don't see anything about forwarding in the OP as well so I'm not sure why that was assumed.
