Can anyone help? I have a blackberry 8830 and when i make a call and "symbol" shows up in the right hand corner that is a black box with blue inside of it. Does anyone know what it means?

Probably audio enhancement. Press the green button, access the menu, go to Options->General Options and check your Enhance Call Audio setting.
