sending delivery receipts

i have a 9000 and it automatically seems to send delivery reports whenerver i receive email. the delivery report confirms my email address. i have set 'no' to 'send read receipts' in message options, email settings, which prevents read receipts being sent, but there is no option to prevent delivery reports being sent. is there anyway to prevent delivery reports as it's really unhelpful?

I am pretty sure if this happens when you receive the email then it would be the person sending the email. Not 100% though.

Delivery receipts are sent from your mail server to the sender, just confirming it has been delivered, is not your blackberry nor mail client sending the receipt. No way to change it on your side unless you can change settings on the server to don't send those receipts.
