Need help to recover dead 8820

I had a dead BB...blame it on my itching hands trying to upgrade a perfectly fine OS4.2 to OS4.5 on an unlocked TMO BB.

Anyway, I scoured the forums and followed the post "How do I recover a dead BlackBerry" diligently, hoping for the best.

However, luck is not on my side as the device goes back into reboot mode when the AppLoader waits for it to initialise (step 2 of the reload process). Never got to install any app at all. Seems like the base system OS has problem starting the BB...:cry:

Anyone encountered this and had a solution. Any help is appreciated.

Do you want to recover what was on the device? or just wipe it clean and start over? RIM has a DOS program that connects via USB and will wipe your device. I have used it once in the past and it was successful. Got it over a year ago but it still works.
