Never heard of brand new BlackBerrys getting their PINs suspended... where'd you hear that?

Seriously, that would be big news. What's your source?

The others stolen and lost, as should be.

You do not make "a lot".
You bought a pre production or stolen device.
You needed to read this first - Buying a BlackBerry off eBay - BlackBerryFAQ (http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Buying_a_BlackBerry_off_eBay)

No, you have posted about the problems in other threads.
Many people have tried to help you.

I am not making fun of you - pointing out to you that because you bought a BB with a suspended pin doesn't mean "a lot of people are gettin their pins suspended by RIM".

i just got one off ebay unlocked with an unused PIN! It was an ex-o2-stock item!

The first email on the unit said welcome......something...2006 lol so its been sitting in a warehouse since 2006! Oh well it still works great though! and the PIN registered no problem!

Yes, your other threads are about how to help.

How to avoid getting a BB with a suspended pin is easy - don't buy off of eBay.

Follow the post earlier about the perils of buying from eBay, and if you do buy, get a money back guarantee and only buy from people you know.

The answer to your question "so i would like to know how to avoid getting my pin suspended" is not to buy a stolen or pre-production BB. That's the only way anyone has ever heard of pins being suspended.

Alright so the pin doesn't get suspended unless it's stolen or lost
Not because of wrong use of the device?

NJBlackBerry

It was suspended before you bought it.
Lost, stolen, pre-production models can all result in a pin being suspended.

But you said you know 4 people with BBs that were suspended. You have 1. Did you all buy from the same person on eBay?

The FAQ which NJ offered you is your best help,

So you are a reseller of the Bold in Kuwait now. You need to demand your money back from the eBay seller, if you don't get it then leave harsh truthful feedback.

Who was the seller on eBay? Let us know.

No, device mis-use will not get it suspended by RIM. Your carrier might cut you off for using too much data or looking at child pornography, but RIM won't.

BUT, they (RIM or your carrier) have been known to suspend a PIN for known use of questionably obtained intellectual property (i.e. software) to which the PIN was connected in the use of. It occurred back this past spring on some TMO devices with some beta OS installs.

I guess the same rule applies to getting your pin suspended, as getting your email account, board account, youtube account, bank account, driver's license, etc: suspended. Don't be stupid. With your BlackBerry, Only buy from trusted sellers, make sure you have a good line of communication with the seller. If you use Beta OS's, and your PIN gets suspended, Don't get mad at rim. If you buy BlackBerry off Ebay, and the PIN is suspended, don't get mad at RIM. You know the rules, we all do things we shouldn't do, You just shouldn't get mad when they turn around and bite you in the butt.

That should not mean anything to anyone, other than those users you keep on BBMessenger, no one will care if you switch devices.

Of course, your carrier might now have the proper service books to push down to the new device.

The branding of the phone doesn't have anything to do with the suspending of the PIN. Whether it's been reported lost or stolen or was a pre-production device is what does, as has been discussed in this thread already.

And Nokia E and N Series...

I remember walking up to the immigration desk at Al Udeid, Qatar last year and the officer had two N95's, an E65, and an E90. $2500 worth of phones on his desk. Crazy.
