Hi Everyone,

I am a new Blackberry user, just got the Curve 8310 today. I have been trying to synch with Outlook but have not had any luck. When I tell the Desktop Manger to synch any item (calendar, task, etc.) it asks me to choose a desktop application; however, it does not list Outlook as an option. My only options are ASCII Importer/Export or Yahoo! (see the attached pic). How do I configure the Desktop Manager to see Outlook and let me choose it as the application I want to sync with?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I looked in the FAQ section and searched this section also.

Thanks in advance.

What version of the Outlook? Outlook 2000 only works with Desktop Manager 4.2.2 and previous, any later then Outlook 2000 and you should be using Desktop Manager 4.3+.

I'm using Outlook 2000...I'll try Desktop Manager 4.2.2. Thanks for the tip...it sure would have been nice if Desktop Manager, or the download page, would have mentioned this.

Using Desktop Manager 4.2.2 with Outlook 2000 worked...in case anyone else has the same problem and reads this thread. Sure wish this was documented somewhere, or even better, the Desktop Manager installation process asked you which version of Outlook you were running.

Thanks again for the help.

Glad it was something as simple like that. :)

It's all here BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community - Search Forums (http://www.blackberryforums.com/search.php?do=process)

I also do not see OUTOOK as an option to select to sync contacts and calender. I have tried everything. I see yahoo and outlook express, which i do not use but Outlook 2007 is not even on the list. my brother got the same 8350I NEXTEL and it worked for him but he is running Vista and I am running XP only difference I can think of?

Outlook '07 is support with Desktop Manager 4.3+

I would try 4.6/4.7

I would also run a repair on the MS Office install from either Add/remove programs or from the Help -> detect and repair, note: you will need the CD if anything is corrupt.
