Unlocking a cingular 8700c to use with sprint?

Hey guys, I got an 8700c with a broken screen from a friend and it is branded cingular (has no sim card though). I was wondering if it was possible to change the screen (I see they're about ~20 on ebay) and then if it was also possible to somehow unlock the blackberry so that it was possible to use it with sprint.

Welcome to the forums.

An 8700c cannot be used on Sprint, sorry. If you unlock it, it can only be used on another GSM network like T-Mobile. Sprint is a CDMA network and they do not (yet) allow devices from other carriers to be activated on their network (likewise with Verizon).

Sprint is CDMA. The 8700c is GSM. Totally different technologies and not compatible whatsoever.
