Well, I decide write here because nobody has been able to solve my problem.

I bought a BlackBerry 8830 World Edition in Sprint company. My contract was finished wiht them and now I am in Chile and I have a local company of cellphones: EntelPCS and I want to use my BB with this company.

What can I do if my BB do not recognize any GSM network here??

How can I get this cellphone work with my local company??

You will have to get a new BB! Afaik the device can't be forced to use gsm as its primary service

You can force it to use GSM as the primary, however, EntelPCS uses GSM/UMTS 1900 (which could be deduced by the "PCS" in the name, and confirmed by gsmworld.com) and the 8830 only offers GSM service in the GSM/GPRS 900/1800 bands.

So, as you mentioned, the OP will still need a new device. :)

The last reason was lapidary: network incompatibility.

Are you absolutly sure? Im looking more information and if that you say is completly true and the last word there is nothing that I can do except change my phone...
