I'm going crazy with BB as a modem

Hi All,

I am having the problems tethering the Blackberry Bold to Windows Vista on my Dell Laptop and it's driving me mad.

I hooked up BB phone and preceded to spend hours trying to hook it up but windows would not recognize it as a modem.

I can find the modem in the Phone and Modem area and set up the Advance command and query the modem and all seems fine but when I try to set up a connection I get the same error all the time:

"Windows could not detect a dial-up modem"

I have read a lots of posts on various forums about tethering but I can not get mine to work.

I have Windows Vista SP1 installed and all my remote access services seem to be running.

Anyone out there that has solved this one??

make sure your BB connected with the DesktopMgr.so that your BB can use as a modem.then creat a connection

I have all that set-up and it's working fine and I can even query the modem under modem settings. So the phone and connection manager seem fine but still no luck????

RIM scrapped the Standard Modem driver after Desktop Manager 4.6 B15. I ran into the same problem and had to downgrade my DM.

Anyone have an idea what RIM's reasoning was for this change?

I believe its due to the carriers. I have a Blackberry Bold that use as modem on my Dell Latitude laptop running Vista SP1. I had to install the AT&T communcation manager to get it to read my Bold as a modem.
