i have an unlocked 8320 that was given to me to use. it was originally set up on a rogers account, once the account was canceled and the data plans deactivated, i tried to set it up on fido but when i put in my pin and imei, it says the codes are still attached to another account. after discussing with both blackberry and rogers, i've discovered that rogers will not deactivate the actual HANDHELD, although both the pin and imei are unlocked, as it is against their policy.

does anyone know how i can get around this? i've been trying to figure it out for weeks and no one seems to have an answer for me...

There's no need to email anyone, we're a community support forum, you can get the support you need right here.

It sounds as if Rogers needs to remove the PIN from the previous account user. You can ask, or the old user can ask, but if the previous account was on Rogers, they need to simply release the PIN.

This is different from being 'unlocked'.
