I want to send an SMS text message to a friend's cell phone in Britain from my BB. Do I simply type +44 in front of his British phone number? Or do I need to do anthing else?
The message is coming from Canada.

Thanks

I *think* that you would use the 44 prefix (as you would with a voice call). Don't count me on that, but I did this once years ago (but not to Britian).

Good luck!

Use +44 prefix and drop the zero from the beginning of his number.

You can probably email his cell and save yourself the SMS costs. If you know his carrier, check out their web site.

He's with Vodaphone but he was having problems getting his email set up And I don't know if he ever succeeded or not. The last time he communicated he sent me a text message. I neglected to save it so I couldn't use the "reply to" option.

When you do SMS him...tell him to buy a BB

Yes. Then I could PIN him. I think he's got a Nokia of some sort.
