Regarding the Site

As a longtime BlackBerry users I upgraded to a new BlackBerry and wanted to ask questions on forums, then realizing that there are no forums organzied enough or existant for blackberry users to ask questions, or just generally chat regarding the Blackberry, so this here forum opened its doors within 6 or so hours of coding, on August 15, 2004, and launched Sunday August 16, 2004.

The forum growth is overwhelming, and extremely impressive for a site that has only been existance for as long as it has.

Hey guys... GLAD I found you.... Been a BB user (7290) for about 3 months. I am somewhat techno savy, but due to work and family obigations, my time spent with techology is pretty much limited to business... therefore I end up being pretty much an appliance user.

However, I am the tech contact for our local office (the interface for all others to the IP helpdesk at our company)... And, I am the first person in our company to get the 7290. Managers had old monochrome BB's... didn't do anything with them but email and phone... But now ALL sales and marketing staff in our company will be getting 7290's... Since I am the first user, I am trying out bunches of new things.. software, new ways of using this technology for improving our productivity, etc.... and hope to spread to other company people all the great stuff that the BB's can do for them (using BB as modem right now on my laptop)...

I will be needing some overall education, and probably some specific instructions, but it will be multipliled over our whole comany (100's of other new BB users...)... Looking forward to the learning!

Hi there, just wanted to say hello. I have been a BB 7290 user for 6 weeks or so. I don't know how i ever managed without it.

I am glad to see that there is a forum (pardon the pun) that is jam packed with info. Its funny many of the sales guys at RIM don't even know some of the tips and tricks on this site.

Awesome!

8) Hey, this is great. Finally, some people who know something! Calling my cell provider, Cing(cough)ular usually gets me nowhere fast.

My biggest obstacle is I have no Windows working anyplace, just Linux, and any third-party software seems to require a Windows box USB'd to my 7290. Oh, the pain...

I recently deployed 20 BlackBerrys in our office. I manage the IT group responsible for that (and the BES). So far things have gone off without a hitch. We're on BES 4.0 for Lotus Domino, using the BB 7730s.

This looks like a very well-run and informative forum.

I have just got BES v2.2.5.5 for our Lotus Domino v6.5.3 infrastructure with just 6 Blackberry users which will probably increase as time goes on. I have never seen BES or used a Blackberry before so it is all a learning curve. I am so glad I found this site though as it has already proved invaluable and has helped me overcome some issues that I have already had.

I wanted to go straight for BES v4.0 but Vodaphone UK have still not released it and my directors were too impatient to want to wait so I have had to go with what I have got and will then have to upgrade once it is available.

Hello to all and cheers for being here :) :D :?

Hello...got a BB 7520 from Nextel about a week ago. I have not put the thing down yet! I am worried that my 11 year old son is going to steal it and my wife is going to throw it away

I have already installed two third party apps: VeriChat and WebViewer. I had issues with both which I was quickly able to resolve thanks to this INCREDIBLE forum.

I look forward to learning more and sharing what I learn!

Just saw this thread. Will post over here. I am a vw/audi performance shop owner and am hoping to use my bb as much as I was able to use my pocket pc.

Been browsing and have installed some apps that are helping!

Now if I could just find some cool ringtones, lol.

And what's up with the search? I click one thread and then hit the backbutton when it's not what I was looking for and have start a new search.

Link to ringtones would be great as searching brings up lots of unrelated threads. Oh, and the use the search nazis can flame away!

After spending about 3 years with them on phones and learning EVERYTHING there was about them, I am officially a noob again. Back to asking questions that have the simplest answers. At least I know the forum rules and regs and posting ettique. Great forum and I know ill spend sleepless nights and work days (Own a cellular store) on it.

Hi, I'm a sys admin for an insurance company office in Bermuda. Though, I went to school for graphic design, I fell into this profession because I have a technical background and the job was easily obtained due to my contacts. I've been placed in charge of the Blackberry operations in my company and maintain services for three offices. Sounds like a lot but it's really only one BES and about 30 users. I like to get out a bit. I'm into sailing and was on the junior national team until I turned 19. Hope that I can contribute as much or more than I get out of this forum.

After 3 months, I've managed to figure out how to emulate PDA functions on my Blackberry and how to receive and send email. And now that Cingular realized that it "forgot" to set the Blackberry Internet Browser on my system, I can go out to websites. But I cannot do a thing when I get there!! Can someone tell me how to enter data on a site -- for example, enter my login when I need one to view functions, click on specific menus, etc.? I feel like an idiot but there's no documentation that explains this and aimless clicking hasn't worked. I have a 7290 that is running v. 3.8

Hi:
I am new BB user from Puerto Rico. I am an attorney who works majorly out of my office. I manage daily 4 email accounts and even though I learned about BB about a year ago while at Boston, it was not available here in PR till recently. My new BB was my B-day present this past April 7th and I am thrilled! My secretary is not so thrilled since I keep emailing here constantly. The good thing is that we don't have to pick-up the phone so much and it saves my minutes and I don't have to carry my notebook with me. This site has been beeerrry! helpful, since Cingular in Puerto Rico, is not very familiar with the product. Through this site, I have worked my way from configuring my device to productivty software. Thank you and keep up the good work!

This looks like a great site!
I am using a 7290 with a 4.0 BES for a few months now, this is my first BB device and I have to say that although I started out cynical about using BB services, having several bad experiences with "wireless e-mail" solutions it is absoloutly great.

I just wanted to inroduce myself....I'm a Nextel Authorized Sales Rep. from KY. I just purchased my first blackberrry after seeing this site a couple months ago. I still have an i860 also, but after just having my BB 7250 for a little over a month now, I can honestly say it would be hard to part with it. After learning how to use the web client e-mail properly and programs such as BBTOday, BBLight, and ReqWireless Webviewer, I have to admit this device is an amazing piece of equipment. This is defnitely an awesome tool to have for the business person.

I just got a 7100g last week for work - company paying for it - and I'm converting from my personal Treo 600. So far it is a painful transition, somewhat similar to changing from Mac to PC (or vice versa, depending on your frame of reference). Still undecided whether I'm going to keep this thing or give it to another employee in my department. It's nice to have this site available to help me make that transition and/or decision.

I'm a newbie and am looking to buy a new BB 7290 and looking at signing up with T-Mobile data plan. Are there any T-Mobile users that has 7290 that are able to use the IM feature? I understand that the T-Mobile has data plans that also includes a BES plan, but I heard that T-Mobile users can have TCP access with regular data plan for 29.99/mo?

I probably will get Verichat, but wanted to make sure that the IM will work on the 7290 as the T-Mobile website stated that the IM works only on 7100. My spec is to have pushup email, SMS, IM, etc, and I'll get them to add the wap.voicestream.com to the account line.

Thanks in advance, and please excuse my lack of tech knowledge with BB.

Hey guys,

I've been a BB user for several years now and I just can't seem to stop like most of you on here (frankly I don't intend to any time soon). This site has been a tremedous help keeping me current with BB solutions (I'm trying to apply for their tech support team  ). I have grown quite familiar with the technology behind my beloved companion and I hope to share them to those in need.

I am currently in application development and support using technologies such as VS6 and .NET. If my services could be of use to any one don't hesitate to PM me.

Hey guys, new BB or rather crackberry (CB) as it's so addictive to use this thing. I'm an Information Security Engineer for a Natural Gas company in the SE of the US. Been a long time PDA user, mostly PalmOS for a major PDA, used Linux on my iPAQ for some time and finally purchased a new PocketPC in November. I've eyed the BB for some time but just couldn't think of a good reason to have it. Then last year my company started to put BB out as our CEO wanted a new toy. I didn't get one and after playing with some at work thought wow, this is cool.. Got a 7250 from Verizon Wireless and at least I got data discounts on my unlimited access via my companies contract - we welcomed discount to be sure!

Hello!

I got my BB 7520 a couple of months ago and hopefully.. hope against all hope that this will stick long enough to last me 1 year. I easily get bored with my gadgets but without ebay auctions.. I'd be swamped with them with nobody to play it.

I don't go for shopping malls to get shoes and clothes and anything girls want (mostly). One thing that is scarry is -- shopping malls are someplace you have to drive to .. while www.website.com is just a click away... which is pretty bad.. co'z the next thing I know.. I can't sleep I JUST HAVE TO GET THAT LATEST GADGET!!!

Probably I'm like my Dad.. who has at least 15 Laptops/notebooks of all sizes and just can't get enough of the lastest technology. But then again we are talking about Asia where all the latest gadgets are released first. Not in California :-(

This is my 9th active phone line (too expensive to cut the others).. and my at least 18 phone in the past 3 years.

I used to have the i860, sony clie PEG-UX50 and my t86i (which serves as my modem for the clie), all in one purse that I can't live without... which I was hoping would last a year.. until I saw the Blackberry 7520.

Love Blackberry even if friends make fun of my new Bulky Buddy hanging in on my pants.. hehe.. I don't think I can live without it.. for now.

Mind them...? Nah.. I love my Blackberry I sleep with it.
;)

There is iden in ASIA? I didnt think iden was anywhere but north america.

One thing that is scarry is -- shopping malls are someplace you have to drive to .. while www.website.com (http://www.website.com/) is just a click away... which is pretty bad.. co'z the next thing I know..

Hello all,

Just got a 7250 for work this week after Bell cancelled service for our old flip-top alphanumeric pagers. Like going from a bicycle to a jet fighter.

I'm really interested in finding out how to synchronize data between by Blackberry and the various Linux systems I have. I already use a Neuros MP3 player/recorder as an external USB drive (I record my chorus recordings on -- see http://www.northernligtschorus.com) and would like to do the same thing with the Blackberry.

2 months ago, I didn't even know what a blackberry was. you'd think I was living in a cave!!! I just got a gov job as a computer tech and they handed me the BES and a BB 7510. I am totally addicted. we're small, so I only have 9 users and we have a policy of "if it isn't broke, don't fix it." I like to tinker though, so hopefully the BB will survive it!! This site is awesome. I would be even more lost than I already am if I hadn't found it.

I have just got a blackberry and have been playing around with it when i noticed that although I can synchronise my blackberry to outlook so that if i delete emails from my blackberry it also deletes them in outlook but can it be done the other way around? In other words if i delete an email from outlook how can I get it to delete from my blackberry automatically?

Just got a job in Waterloo, all my customers have blackberries, so I figured I should have one. I don't like to lock into long term contracts so I got an unlocked 5810, figured I would get the data plan and that would be it. I was dumb enough to tell FIDO I had a blackberry and they got rid of my data plan. Should I even bother trying to get a 5810 to work somehow or should I get a more recent one? From what I can tell these blackberry things are fantastic, if they can be made to work.

Thank heaven for this site! I recently started doing tech support at my company I have to admit I had no idea what I was getting into. I'm learning (fast as I can) but I found it very hard to find good info on some of the troubles I've been having. I started with a 6750 then moved to a 7750 and I now have a 7250. Any leads on applications that make this thing even better would be GREAT!

Hey all! New Blackberry owner, new user. Just got my Blackberry and Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset a few days ago. Love it so far, but I am just happy to be able to use the basic functions, looking forward to learning more on this forum. Been reading, and picked up some great tips, and interesting reading and reviews. A bit scary reading about all the overage charges though! I am on Rogers in Ontario Canada, and have the unlimited plan for data. I do have a few questions regarding the billing, but will ask in appropriate threads. Just introducing myself, thanks for the great info so far, and hope to be able to provide some in time. Sonny,

Hi, I'm new to the forum and just introducing myself.
I currently work as a network engineer, but recently inherited the role of Blackberry Admin (last week) as well, so I'm hoping to learn as much from this forum as possible to get up to speed quickly on both BES and handheld device technologies. Both are new to me. I'm just learning to do enterprise wireless activation for new users...guessing there will be a lot to learn on troubleshooting and other things as well...

I have had my 7290 for about a week now. I just figured out why I could not connect because I did not have a data plan. Hopefully I will be up and running with no problems this week. I have been a palm user for many years and have gotten tired of having 3 devices (palm, 2way, and cell) to stay connected to the world. I am glad I found this site I am sure I will need lots of support.

New Verizon 7250 here - company issue, and leaving the Treo 650 in the dust (actually Ebay). Have lurked for a couple of weeks agonizing over coverage and model decision (I could choose between 7100/7290 on T-mo or Cingular, or 7250 on Verizon), and - although I need some international coverage (once a quarter or so...) I couldn't justify sacrificing domestic coverage, so stayed with Verizon. (Please can we have EVDO, pretty please?) This is a very helpful site, thanks to everyone's involvment - keep it up, y'all!

Hi all,
I've been surfing on this site as a guest and decided to bite the PIN and hop on to gain more tips and tricks on my BB. I've been a BB user since the RIM 950/957 days, then moved to a Rogers 6280 and finally to a Telus 7510. So far the Telus unit is great for work but the battery life sucks but following Mark's tips I've been "training" the battery but it never lasted as long as the Rogers unit on GPRS. Just joined. We're trying to promote BlackBerry Big time in the UK. Its a hard sell but i really think its going / is the killer device and application

We're offering some really neat referral fees. Especially when BES users need say a new handset / network but they already have say a unlocked BB or can handle a new number on the same network.

I just bought a BB7780 off eBay. I have to say that I have had Ipaqs & Palms but this is the PDA I love. No stylus! I love the track wheel. I like the one handed operation. I also love the built in keyboard (I had a Tungsten W until I turned it into a paperweight.) I was giddy when the guy had it for buy now - I debated over it - but I am glad I bought it.

Hi All,

Long time Palm user (Psion and HP-200LX before that) looking to combine cell and PDA so I can stop looking like Batman wearing a utility belt with all my junk on it. Was thinking of getting a Treo 650 but decided to shop around to see what else there was.

Shopped around looking at various PDA/cells, liked the PocketPC units except for the size when used as a phone and the Blackberry units. Looked at the 7100 and liked the size and feel of it but couldn't figure out how to enter text/data in it due to the abbreviated keyboard. The sales lady trying help me made things worse by being clueless herself. We entered in some nice unless encrypted messages.

Left there and went to a T-Mobile store and met a guy with a 7100t and the district manager with his 7105t. They proceeded to dazzle me with the speed of IM'ing each other, features, zipping around here and there, their scores on some drug dealer game (or, maybe that's there side business), etc. I was impressed. Figured I could learn to be proficient with one, too, and moved it up on my list.

Then they showed me the T-Mobile rates, for only $10 more than I'm paying now I get 100 more minutes of voice and unlimited Blackberry. Less than half a similar plan with Cingular. Nice.

My Cingular contract expires Dec. 4th (billing ends the 23rd for some reason) and the day after I plan to switch to T-Mobile via a free 7105t deal I saw online.

So, for now, I'm reading messages and learning. I primarily use a Mac but have a WinBox here as well. Not sure which way I'll go yet for syncing yet.

So, hold off on teaching me the secret handshake just yet.

Hi Guys … I have been reading the board for about two weeks and have had my Blackberry 8700C fro about 3 weeks now. This is a great group and I am always a fan of message board for my obsessions (Like AA for Dorks). I figured I should introduce myself and give a little insight to about me. I am a consultant for one of the “Big 4” accounting firms; I do Computer forensics and electronic Evidence discovery. I have been out of school for about a year and have done A LOT of travel domestically (US) and international (Canada and Switzerland), hits the new need for the Blackberry. Recently married October 29, bough a house June 15, and have a Puppy who is CRAZY. I am a self admitted computer dork and really didn’t need another way to stay in the look but went for it anyways. I am always a fan of lending a hand and hope I can fit in here and help out some people from all of the reading of the archives and technical knowledge I have.

My Blackberry is set up on my Companies BES, I also use the BIS to check my personal e-mail on my own server that I manage out of my house. I have Verizon FIOS in my house, satellite radio, satellite TV. I am kind of a gadget freak and keep getting new ones.

I also would like to say Thank You all for the info up here; I was able to get my Blackberry 8700C Unlocked by CINGULAR just 2 weeks after I switched from Sprint and started a new account. I requested it on a Wednesday Night, faxed then the info they wanted on Thursday afternoon and had the code in my inbox on Friday morning.

Feel free to e-mail, PM, or PIN me anytime I am always up for chatting and helping when ever I have some time.

I went to the handgo web page and downloaded some demo's. But when I tried to load them it said I do not have a device for the program. I do not have access to the internet thru my phone.

Some software packages may not be formatted to work correctly on the 7100 or 8700 phones or they simply don't recognize the model numbers.

Good evening all,

New BB'er in Maryland here. Thought I'd pop in to say hello and share my pre-thanks to the various members of the board. I recently purchased my first BB, model 7105t, after seeing one of my fellow workers fiddling with his. I think the lil gadget is a great tool and soon it will be linked with my agency's BES.

This has been an invaluable forum in helping get things up and going on my end. I intend to hang around for a good while longer to pick a few brains.

Cheers!

Hi to all on the forum, I promise to ask the dumbest questions you've ever had. I will read the FAQ's before asking though. You are going to have to be patient with me as I am a newborn in the BB world. Just bought a 7230 and it blows me away. Glad your here.

hello all,

this is my first post here, and first time bb user. Long time pda/ppc user and my buddy just bought a 7100 and gave me his old 7280 and decided to try it out. All I can say is, I should have listen to my friend who's been a bb user for 3yrs, eventhough my ppc-6600 is 2yrs newer than this 7280, i was blown away with bb. Im actually planning to get a 8700 now after using 7280 for 4days! but i just bought a se w900i. the 7280 will do for now until i can afford to buy a newer bb.
oh and btw the only thing i miss on my pda is the ability to use real time GPS. I was wondering if this is also available on bb's????

Greetings. I'm a high school administrator currently living in Colorado. I'm a recent transplant from Florida (By choice! I love it here!) and am a HUGE e-mail and IM user when keeping in touch with my friends and family back in FL.

I'm a major Mac geek after switching in 2002. Also, a recent switcher from T-Mobile to VZW since our school district gets a nice government discount.

I was recently asking about "convergence" devices and our government rep said I could acquire the BB 7130e for $30 including the car charger. Well, the car charger is $30 on VZW.com so I figured what the heck! I poked around on this board for a while and with all the BB love here, I figured it was a no-brainer! I've had a Treo before and it was just "OK" to me - the main thing I wanted was push e-mail and IM capability -- doable on a Treo, but I don't like "work-arounds" when they can be avoided.

Anyway, my 7130e is on the way overnight and should be here tomorrow...

Nextel BB's have GPS on them. YOu would need a mapping program. I have never had any luck with it, but only occasionally even attempt to get my location download... jsut another option I don't need. Like power folding rear seats in a 2-seater car...

Hi All :)
This looks like a great site!
I am using a 7290 with a 4.0 BES for a few months now, this is my first BB device and I have to say that although I started out cynical about using BB services, having several bad experiences with "wireless e-mail" solutions it is absoloutly great.
I'm looking forward to learning and sharing.

Just wondering, who is the local BB provider in Israel?

I have a problem accessing a secure website that is mine from the Blackberry, it gives me the error 403 forbidden access message. We do not run a BES we use only the webcllient software. I have contacted our cellular service "Verizon" and they don't have a clue.

I can open this page from any computer just fine but when I use the Blackberry to try and go to this site this is the message. I searched the forum several times and everything points back to the BES server, but again we don't run a BES server. anyone have any ideas?

If anyone has a clue for a work around please send me email or pin me,

Have you tried BlackBerry Messenger? You can add anyone who has a BB to your contact list and if they accept your invite then you can chat back and forth. I use it with a team of 20 people. It is great. Here is the link if you are interested. It is free from RIM. http://www.blackberry.com/messenger/entry.do

Hello to all.

I've been in IT for about 4 years now and recently I got 'thrown' into the Blackberry support position at my office. We have over 380 BB users currently on the BB Enterprise Server, and for the most part it runs itself. Of the 380 current users, only about 5 of those are using their personally bought BB's and the rest are supplied by the company, which I support. About 80% are using 7230's and the rest are using 7290's.

There's not a day that goes by that I'm not on the phone with RIM  Sometimes wiping clean, even using javaloader.exe, does not solve some problems. This can drive a sane man crazy!! Oh well, I like to learn and hope to learn a lot from this forum, as well as help out as much as I can.

So, being the newby, the first round is on me (y)

Hello to all. I'm a NYC TMOBILE blacberry user. I've recently upgraded to a 8700g. I bought my first blackberry 8 months ago(a 7100t). I have been hooked since. I love using the device one handed. Multitasking at it's best. I've actually been reading this forum for some time. I've used many of the 'hacks'. Like the CSL for 4.0 for my 7100t and Zen theme for 8700g).My advice to other newbies dont be afraid. Once they work It's like a new phone.

Hello all,
I'm really glad I found this site - I stumbled upon it when I was searching for EVDO information. I, and about 15 other managers in our organization have been using 7250's on a BES deployment for around 6 months now I guess. The term 'CrackBerry' is certainly not far off - once you've tried it, you'll never be happy with anything else ever again.

Nice to be here, great site, and I look forward to learning more.

One other thing. Pictures are NOT backed up by the Desktop Manager backup routine. Once you file them in the Pictures app, the only things you can do with them is look at them (from Pictures), is to set one as your wallpaper, or send them to someone else via BB Messenger.

Your best bet is to email them to your BB, Open the email and open all the picture attachments (and then save them to to Pictures), and then save the message. You will then have the picture saved in the message, where they will be backed up to the BES (if you're set up that way), or can be backed up with Desktop Manager's backup routine. That way, if (WHEN) you have to wipe your BB, you'll have the pics in your saved messages where you can retrieve them and re-save them to Pictures. If you don't do this, you will loose all pictures except those that come with the device (marked with a padlock) on a wipe.
--------------------------------------------------------
Update - although you can't transfer them to a computer, you can backup and restore MP3's (Ring tones) and Pictures. They are held in the Content Store on Desktop Manager 4.1's Backup / Restore applet.

Yeah, i hate to say it but those old devices are going to become QUICK paperweights. Our company switched us to the Treo700w when they were FIRST released, within 2 days our IT dept had over 10,000 messages from agents and users wanting to go back to blackberry. It was awesome. I love my blackberry, been using then since 00'. If you like the ease of getting your e-mail and not into all that other fancy stuff like "playing games on your device, taking pictures, stuff like that; you are going to LOVE your new blackberry. If you got questions let me know. You can PIN message me, post or email whatever works best for you.

Oh, mine deletes everything and its mother. It even deleted brick breaker once, don't know how that happened. My 7250 has issues though.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7290/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.1.12.0)

this site is full of excellent info. Don't know if this is the right place for this but I need some info. How do I go about editing the original text in an email before forwarding it? Any ideas?

I have a 8700c, and am getting txt messages informing me that I have downloaded "Funky Wallpaper" and some kind of ringtones. I'm a 66 year old woman and have absolutely no use for those things. How on earth can I stop this madness. I'm being charged for this junk! I just want a phone/email device, and thought this one was the answer. Hope I don't have to go back to my Treo 700W and Verizon.

You can get most software executables directly from the web.. on your bb; just got to do some browsing.

Under options, then advanced settings, then applications.. you can see if any 3rd party apps have been installed and remove them. If you are on a corporate BES you might need to have the BES admin change your policy to delete programs.

Great forum! I've got a PPC 6700 with Sprint and have found it to be a useful device, but its size (weight) and battery life are keeping me from carrying as often as I'd like at work. I use it for email and scheduling as well as voice (my job has Sprint as its preferred carrier and has repeater antennas everywhere.) I also tether my laptop when traveling.
Sprint is planning to add the BB 7130e and I was wondering if I should switch . It seems similar in size but by specs is 1/3 lighter (2oz). This could be a significant difference as I can't carry the 6700 on my scrubs without an embarrassing gravitational effect! I was hoping to be able to use voice and check my schedule (exchange server) while at work, as well as email and tether on the road.
Are there any VZW users that have tried both? I went to a corporate store and they weren't helpful.
Thanks

All,

Need some help from you guys. I am having an issue at work with our 7290's. T-Mobile is the provider and we were experiencing issues with duplicating contacts and address books. So we upgraded to 4.0 and went wireless. We thought that fixed the issue. Now we have some users still getting dups. I am new to blackberry so not sure why this is happening. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

I recently purchased a model 8700G. I like it alot. I am brand new to using a Blackberry. I am using the redirector on my desktop. We do not have the BES at work here.

I want to be able to sync up using the bluetooth USB I have on my machine.
When I currently pluf in the USB cable for sync up, I noticed in the configuration area, that it says "Your Blackberry Enterprise Server does not support wireless message reconciliation."

Can I use Bluetooth with just the redirector to reconcile???? If so what do I need to do to make it work. I have the bluetooth turned on my phone. I tried to search for devices with my pc and cant see it. (I do see another PC that an employee has bluetooth enabled so I know my bluetooth is searching)

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks
Jim

You can only use the Bluetooth to sync contacts, tasks, notes and calendar. You can not use it to reconcile your e-mail.

Hi, I"m new to the forums. After wanting to get a blackberry or similar device for a long time I finally took the plunge and ordered it this afternoon. I had debated between the blackberry and pda/smartphone. However after reading reviews of the 7130e vs. Motorola Q and talking with my Brother (who loves his blackberry) I decided to go for the 7130e. I'm looking forward to getting it this week.

I am starting a Biz-to-Biz Bberry company and was curious what 3rd party applications are used most often in your industry. Depending on your position, I thought you might come across applications that a lot of people seem to be using. If you know of any, I'd really appreciate it if you would let me know. Might help me convice some people to join the BB universe. Thanks, any help is appreciated.

I just got my first blackberry today. The 8700g. I work for T-mobile so I figured i might as well use the free blackberry service that they give us. Been lurking around this forum for a few days. So far i like the blackberry, different than my pocket pc, but i'll get use to it.

Hi All, I am a Systems Admin with a BES 4.0 and 22 various BB's to manage, as well as the people who use them : )
Found your site while researching the "Send As" issues that I need to prepare for before I install SP2 on my Exchange server...I know I held out as long as I could.
Really great info here, thanks.

Hello, I have a few questions. A business I am working with is in need of a blackberry solution. All field techs (10) have blackberries as do the dispatchers.
The functionality they need is as follows:
Dispatching field technicians to clients (giving out daily assignments).
Mapping and directions.
Communication back to dispatcher's blackberry with work status (work complete, parts needed, etc)
Scheduling, Calendaring (daily, weekly, monthly)

I am looking for some third party software that is relatively inexpensive, scalable and upgradeable. Any suggestions on a third party software that might work for my client? Cost considerations: max 5K

Sounds like the standard Blackberry + BES solution will work for you.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and have quite a few questions. I don't own a Blackberry just yet as I'm in the process of trying to decide which one is for me. I don't want to clutter up the forums with silly newbie questions, so if anyone is happy to help me out please let me know and I will contact you via PM with my questions.
Thankyou =)

Hello. Hope I'm ok to post here, I just ditched the (awful) Sidekick and finally joined the Blackberry community (I've been wanting to get one for 4 or 5 years now). Like most new users (I assume), I got the 8100 and I LOVE it. It's been 2 days, and I'm VERY addicted. It's PERFECT! Anyway, just wanted to drop a hello and introduce myself. Thanks!
