Yes, I have search and have done many of the suggested memory freeing process in past posts. But I have never been able to get more then 10Mb of Ram. Cleaned all logs, SMS, PHONE, SAVED. ALT LGLG also clean and currently on 4 emails on the BB.

1) Am I readying the status correct. file free currently is 6988561 Bytes Thus...6.9mb ? is this correct.

2)Is this enough.. at times I feel the BB is running slow.

3) I do have a number of applications on my BB, but is this not why we have it... to use it? i use all the applications below regularly.

Information about my BB
8830
4.5.101 - Beta ( had the same issues with 4.2)

3rd party Applicaitons

Google Maps
empower mail viewer
Golden Tee
Nobex Radio

Opera Mini
Vling
Traffic Eye

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

1. Correct. Low.
2. No. You need to shoot for 15mb file free.
3. Apps look fine, not much at all. Nobex, and Google Maps can be VERY data intensive. Pull your battery while powered on, and reboot the BB. What is the file free now?

Any images, pictures and music on your device memory? Move that to your Media Card.

Good luck.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

The problem with that device is the memory Space

Funny you should post that. I was looking at memory last night as well. I have about 6.5 Mb free. Tried the reboot, that got me back up to about 10 Mb, but it slowly is winding down...

My Apps....

Google Maps 3.0.1
Slacker
Facebook
WeatherEye

Any thoughts?

I just checked the File Free prior to a battery pull and it was at ZERO? How can that be... and it was still working?

Now post battery pull it is at 6.8mb

You need to read the link I posted above.

I always recommend file free to be ~15mb free...

You might want to download QuickPull, its a free third party app to schedule a "battery pull" effect, you can find it for free in the aftermarket software section.

Definitly go threw the link JSanders' mentioned it will definitly help you out.

Okay,
So I have done a complete wipe and reinstall. I have installed no 3rd party software and limited what was installed .

I have now just over 11mb. This is without 3rd party software.

What have I done wrong?

Did yo follow the instructions in the link posted above?

http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-blackberry-discussion/112029-losing-call-logs-sms-emails-optimize-your-bb-how-setup-max-free-memory.html

You should be able to clear out alot of space following that thread, I got up to 22 MB on my 8830, and I had alot of 3rd party apps.

When I do alt + EACE it shows me that my

File Total = 47mb

Should I not have 64Mb?

You NEVER have that much file free, the 64 MB total also includes the BB OS and all the normal applications (tasks, notes, email, phone, etc)

47 MB is pretty good you should be fine.

47 Mb is the file total, not my free space.

File Free is anywere 11mb after a battery pull and goes down to zero.

Them, honestly, you haven't done everything to the tee.

What media, pictures, videos, and music do you have loaded to the device memory?

Look at Options > Status > Menu > Database sizes.

Please list here those with the three largest numbers... like Messages: "1,546kb/234"
