it accepts wav files not adp files. please, for the sake of christ, his child, his father, his twin brother, his dead mother, and a lot of other people from the past such as abe lincoln and dirty harry, do a search. hell, just scan down the first page of this subforum. there's a lot of info.

there are 15 threads on the subject. why start another one? why not just reply to one of the already existing ones rather than polluting the forum with another thread with the same questions that have been asked for the last 2 weeks?

This attitude will get you a lot of help as you see. All you are getting is people addressing your attitude rather than answering your question, if I were you I would try hard not to come in and tick people off that could conceivably help you specially after two posts.

And now for some information regarding the fact that you feel it is easier to get noticed starting your own thread, there are a lot of us here that go through all of the new posts, that means new threads and new posts to old threads. You are likely to be seen a lot easier in a thread that is going on rather than a new one simply because when it is new and you read the header and see that it has been addressed 1000 times in the last week, what you do is skip it. On the other hand when it is an old thread you open it and look and see what is going on and you stand a better chance to get a response quicker tht way. Just a little advice from someone who just a few months ago was a newbie here.

That's pretty slick the way you guys hid this answer in the first sticy of the sub forum. I have an officer friend who swears he could sit on the side of the freeway with all his emergency lights and siren on and still get speeders. I believe him now???

C'mon - there must be 50 threads on 7100 ringtones. You want the answer - look in any one of the numerous existing 7100 ringtone threads.

These 2 threads seems very easy to understand. Hopefully, soon, someone will figure out a way to make the ringtones happen. Until then, either find a way to do it yourself or be patient and wait. And while you are waiting call Nextel and give them H*ll. I know I will be doing that becasue I was specifically told that voice ringtones were something that I would be able to do with "no problems".

Good job BlueP, you win the $MIL prize for sooper snooper. now the smart thing to do is continue one of the 7100I treads with findings and ideas so there will be a single point for information as you guys figure the 7100I ringtone situation out. This is all folks are trying to say about all these new treads for the same subject.

i was just saying how know really said what format the wav needs to be in. sorry to snap but it seems when people start a thread all everyone does is yell at them and tell them to do a search. i know theres only 50 threads regarding the 7100i but cmon someone must know how to do this by now. this is blackberryforums.

That's still no reason to start another thread. It's not just here, HoFo has also been taken over with these type of threads. It's frustrating when new folk just sign-up, start one thread on a topic that has been covered (a lot) and then ***** when they don't get immediate results.

This is a community. People help one another, not expect that the other people here are their personal support representatives. If this is a major issue for you, call Nextel.

Oh, and stop being an such a dick.

yep. and to be honest, its just going to be a guessing game as to how to format it.

And in case that is still hard to read or see try this:

whoknowswhat apparently you dontknow jack. are you reading the same things that i am...evidently not. it is very apparent that the format is wav. the question is how to get them on the BB. Im sure in a few months when there are more people on 4.1 software you will have your answer untill then stop with your smart ass remarks. everyone on this forum is trying to help everyone else and no body isgoing to help you and your better than life attitude...just be patient...

look, i'll add my $0.10 here since i can still respond to closed threads - not to mention that i've already posted this in a few threads here that could easily be found.

whoknowswhat, there's no way of loading .wav files onto a 7100i. there's no way of loading .adp files onto it either, as it does not support the file. the user guide provided by Nextel/RIM state that you should be able to just load a .wav file from a webpage, however when trying to do so, it states that the MIME type, audio/x-wav, is not supported. i do not personally have a 7100i, so i cannot do my own testing. however, with that said, if a browser is reporting back that it does not understand the MIME type, then that lets me know that the file CANNOT be loaded into the browser b/c the MIME type is NOT supported by it. now, that being said, there ARE .wav files pre-loaded onto the handheld that ARE a recognized by it as its MIME handler understands audio/x-wav.

point being, and yes, i've already stated this, the BROWSER does NOT support .wav files. the MEDIA PLAYER does support .wav files. there is NO way of loading files directly into the Content Store database w/o it being recognized by some sort of application on the handheld - be it the browser or MMS or email translators. none appear to support it right now, and maybe that is by design or maybe it was just overlooked.

moral of the story (again, i have suggested this) is to contact RIM or NXTL rather than asking the same information over and over and over on a forum. sometimes, in some cases, YOU have to the person to figure out the information and share it. in the case of a phone that has been out for a week and quite a bit of research has already been done but nothing found, then the possibility for you to actually contribute information to the community is a little greater.

and a bit extra for you to read, we know who you are, which is why you were banned - not because of your extra post. macmel, idle, customiden, rim_blackberry, whatever you want to call yourself this week, please take a hint. you are not wanted here. you have been told that multiple times. you do realize that you are breaking the law by continuing your presence on this website, correct?
