Any recommendations for a blackberry application that will make my blackberry go off repeatedly until I see a high-priority message from my boss or top customer?

BBAlerts is customizable in that way.

BByMel Software (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbymelsoftware.com%2Fbbalerts%2F&ei=MxmsSe2iIdeitgeC9JzkDw&usg=AFQjCNE4cIcd6WR8Y9E880CKE0QLKak46w&sig2=BY2ysz9IIdGRSZSLDlwvmw)

There are three main choices -

BBAlerts - cheapest, with least amount of function ($13) (BByMel Software (http://www.bbymelsoftware.com/bbalerts/))

WebMessenger Message Alerts - more function but clunky, especially if you have a lot of people to set up $24.95 (Message Alerts (http://www.webmessenger.com/products/mablackberry.htm))

REXwireless AlertMatrix - best but also a bit more expensive ($34) (AlertMatrix by REXwireless Software (http://REXwireless.com/alertmatrix))

Having used all three, I now use AlertMatrix because it is the only one that offers priority sensitivity. In other words, a high priority message will jump ahead of a low priority one in the alert stack and act differently based on priority. It also lets me set different filters for priority. For example I can set it to only allow high or critical priority alerts to go through when I'm in a meeting.

I think there is another application from e-Mobile but I have not tried it / did not hear good things about it. Maybe someone else has and can comment.

I think Alert Matrix is great as well. As their examples show, you can have an alert where if the subject contains 911 (or whatever you want), and then assign that to a high priority alert of your own design. I use this when I am on vacation and my office needs me to get alerted immediately. Very configurable, you can set it up to alert you to what you want, and when.
Also automatically backs up all settings and data wirelessly. Great company!

Wirelessly posted (8300)

I've heard rumors that bbalerts works erraticially works on some 9000 flawless sometimes not at all.
Asaik they have not updated it since early 2008. Unfortunately and no plans to update it. I'm thinking of getting alert matrix myself.

I wish there was something like alertmatrix but could customize any program response found in the "profiles" window + what alertmatrix already does. That way it could work with practically any event. Otherwise alertmatrix is pretty good (over kill minus the profile monitoring events)

(y)(y)(y)Go with Alert Matrix if you want the best overall product. I've had some experience with each and could be a poster child for the Rex Wireless solutions. From set up, reloading when changing devices, syncing, using web app as an interface, its great.

Thanks for the help. I decided to try all three and I guess its not surprise that AlertMatrix won my business by a pretty wide margin. Works very well. Only gripe I have is that you have to manually change from normal mode to night mode instead of a scheduler.

Add it to the suggestion list on their forum. I think there is already a thread about it there, I know I sent it as a suggestion. Although they've been pretty much bogged down with the todoMatrix-BB task integration, I'm hoping they'll start working on user suggestion enhancements soon.
