"C" for compose on SMS composes e-mail not SMS

Friends:

When I'm in the SMS application, and I press "C" to compose one, it composes and e-mail rather than an SMS. Is there a way so that the BB Bold recognizes that if I'm within the respective messaging application (mail, sms, BB chat) to use that one when I press "C"?

If you have the date highlighted in the SMS screen you can hit the Menu key and it will come up with "Compose SMS Text" highlighted.

Or do a search for Qsms. It's a free app that lets you hit a hot key from the desktop that takes you to the addressbook so you can send a SMS text.
