ive lost a botton off my keypad, ive ordered another pad but idont know how to remove the old keypad, ive read the diassembly instruction on this site as to how to remove the screen but cant find any about removing the keypad :-(

any info available wold be greatly received

I believe there is still a video floating around on the procedure. If the 8800 is like the 8830....

Remove the battery and then the 4 screws you see. (Torx 4, 5 or 6, I never remember - most hardware stores have them now)

Next is the "hard" step. You need to pry the siderails starting at the bottom. I used a PLASTIC citrus peeler to avoid marring the case. They snap in near the bottom and are then held by two-sided tape. I only levered them out far enough to allow the front of the case surrounding the keypad to move away and then the keypad slipped out. I used paperclips to keep the sidewalls levered away. I slipped in the new keypad, removed the paperclip levers and SNAPPED the siderails back. Replace screws.......

It was initially harrowing but I did it at work and my secretary thought I was nuts - all is well and I really like the BLACK keypad with white lights for my silver 8830.

There use to be a different and I thought better video with commentary about the disassembly but I think it is gone since I have not been able to locate it.
