What is this PIN?

Hi. Can anyone tell me what is this PIN? I'm noticing people are putting this information under their names. And stating for other to use this PIN to get in contact with them. Is this something like Nextel Direct yet it with Blackberry devices? And how would I get this to work or take advantage of it? Thanks alot!

Options-->Status and you will see the PIN # there and this is a unique identifier for each BB like its IMEI number is but the good thing about PIN is that if you have BB data plan then you can chat or PIN message to other BB user who have data plans.
It is part of the internet plan and it will not cost you $$.

Also how do you compose a PIN mesg:??
Go to messages and TrackWheel and click it
