Is it possible to move applications around from main menu to home screen for quick access ??

Depends on the Theme. You should be able to move your 5 most used icons to the top row (making them the first 5 icons) and they should show on your home screen.

Highlight an icon, press the menu key, select move, navigate to where you would like the icon, press the menu key and select move here.
