I know it has probably been asked a hundred times before and I promise I am doing searches of the posts but if anyone can do a quick sum up for me I will be in your debt.

I have a friend who has entered his password 10 times. Yes he went through all the blackberry steps as well not reading the messages. Of course it wiped. It was a problem with the letter q and of course he never read what was coming up when the text was displayed. I told him that 3 strikes he's out of luck.

As a good friend I told him I would have a look and see what I can do.

It is an 8700

Never been backed up

Is there any hope in getting his data back?

Concurred. He's out of luck. The wipe process also re-writes garbage data over the deleted stuff to ensure it's gone for good.
