Will the 8800 see 5.0 ?

I keep seeing all the new os updates for bold,storm, flip, niagera, and 8900. Does anyone have any inside info if we will get 5.0 on the 8800? The flip has 4.6 but I really can't see much difference in hardware between the 2 devices, so I can't see why they wouldn't continue to upgrade the 8800 as well.

You will see it someday. Not for quite a while though. A lot of improvements are needed on these builds. 5.0 will eventually be available on older devices such as 81xx, 83xx, and 88xx. But we will probably be seeing 5.0 more on newer devices such as 82xx, 9000, 8900, and 95xx.

I doubt you'll see 5.0 for the 8800. That series of BlackBerry is pretty much deprecated now.

Rumor had it the 88xx, 81xx, 83xx was suppose to 5.0.

4.5 was suppose to be the last update for the 87xx.

But those were just rumors, and as what Penguin said the newer BB models offer alot in the way of Hardware/Memory.

Im waiting for OS 5.0 for my 8800 :D i like changing OS on my BB :D (its my hobby).
