Hi,

i'm using google maps on my bb 8900 for navigation. When i get back from a cycling trip, i'd like to be able to download my gps track history in a gpx (or any other) format for further processing. My only requirement is for the data to be accessible via usb without the need for installing any special software on the computer, so that i can download it in, say, an internet cafe.

Do i need to install a special application for that? Any suggestions?

Maybe use GPSed and save your track history on your SD card then pull the track history off the SD card via the USB on your BB?

Tracking apps are included in the "All Known GPS Apps" thread in the GPS forum. ;-)

I did not know that the google app actually recorded a track - I will have to look at it. I've used gpsed and it works well.

I now prefer gps-logger (which is temporarily offline) and it can save the track to an sd card or email the gpx file to email address(es) or a google earth formatted file, too.

thanks for the kick start, guys.

@<hidden>: google maps don't record a track, that was the problem .)
