This could be a potential solution to those who use their Blackberry to get email from either AOL, AIM, Yahoo, or MSN Hotmail.

As you can see, this phone is similar in form factor to the Motorola MPX. It has the same dual hinge. It also has EDGE and Bluetooth, along with voice commands including voice dictation. No camera or MP3 player like many of the other new high end phones. This one seems strictly about messaging.
Along with releasing this phone, Cingular released a java program called "Mobile Email"...

This program basically provides push email from these providers. When you get a new email, it alerts you with a push message, and then you have the option to open your inbox and download the email. And it works much like BES in that if you delete an email, it also gets deleted from your AOL or Yahoo inbox as well. It keeps your folders synchronized. Also, you have the option of turning off the alerts and only checking your email when you want to. It does NOT support attachments however.
Although the website states it only works with a few Motorola phones, it does indeed also work with this new Samsung, and it was customized for this phone to work in landscape mode with the keyboard.
This phone also has AOL, Yahoo & ICQ messengers built into it.
So what is the advantage, if any, over a blackberry? Well, you get to carry a normal size flip phone, have voice dial capabilities from your bluetooth headset, and best of all, you can subscribe to a much less expensive MediaNet plan instead of the expensive Blackberry plan.
Obviously this is not nearly sophisticated enough for many people who use a blackberry. It does not syncrhonize address book, callendar, notes, or any other items other than email. And it is not a smartphone. But it could be a very good solution for a small number of blackberry users (like myself) who used their blackberrys mostly for messaging and either AOL, Yahoo, or MSN email through the Web Client, and never had any of the BES functions to begin with.
