os acting slow - can you tweak it out?

my 8900 has 133,673,063 free memory
and 22,637,940 used and it acts slow when checking ims etc
takes like 2 seconds?

is there anything i can do to tweak it out?

If you are looking for something quick you may also try a battery pull, if you haven't already.
