Hi all, I had a 7250 on telus mobility for 6 months before getting a BES rogers BB from the company. The 7250 was rated roughly the same speed as the 7290 (as far as all the benchmarks I can find), however in actual functionality, the 7290 is a sluggish dog!!

Examples: Using BB messenger I constantly out-type its buffer, very very frustrating. Even scrolling through menus is much slower. I ran a benchmark on my own and found that the numbers were in fact very good like all the others posted. However, loading pages in the browser is much faster on the 7290, but scrolling through them once loaded, is still MUCH slower on the 7290.

What is the main difference between a 7250 and a 7290 in performance? I was under the impression CDMA models were slower than GPRS models, however it seems the opposite. Does the BES cause a bulky overhead in processing power or is something just not optimized correctly? Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

I have a 7250 on Bell Mobility and a 7290 on Rogers. The 7250 is clearly faster. It's a hardware issue, but I am not qualified to give you the technical explanation. The 7250 is the fastest BB available. It will be surpassed by the 8700 series though.
