Hello!

I read with interest this morning an article about how 'easy' it is to recover data from a factory reset BB. Has anyone had any experience with this? I thought that once the factory reset was done, the device was wiped. Is that enough these days? What else should be done?

Apparently, I can't post the link that I got but the article was in a The Register and about what Nigeria is doing these days. A guy from a data recovery firm stated that is was relatively easy to recover data from these devices after a factory reset.

A wiped BlackBerry is just that - wiped. The data is gone, unless someone employs an advanced data recovery procedure. I believe most of the data recovered is done so on a BlackBerry that was not properly security wiped, but it's possible that, if unencrypted, a professional data recovery service could get it back.
