Messenger Problems

So yesterday I tried to send my boyfriend a message on BB messenger. But when you're on the phone it has that little symbol beside the face. It was stuck on all day. So when he got home I looked at his phone and his said mine was on the phone, Even though it wasn't. We tried taking the batteries out and I even deleted us off each others phones and re added us but now it's been stuck in pending for almost a day. Anyone know how to fix this?

Nope, the clock just stays beside the message.

Yep, for everyone. The clock stays for a long time, then it says they are on the phone too.
