Does anyone have any idea when this would be around. I just bought a treo 650 and returned it within the day. Look forward to using this new 8700. also i have heard about the GPS capabilities and was wondering if this can be used to get directions? Any help will be greatly appreciated, this site is a great tool!

THe only new BB coming to Verizon is the 7130. Cingular will be exclusive to the 8700c with other GSM carriers following, possibly CDMA carriers after that. Only Nextel BB are GPS capable at the moment.

According to this article, Cingular will be exclusive for "a period of months" whatever that means...

And yet, they announced the Rogers version 8700r.Exclusive to the United States, Rogers has it Exclusively in Canada, and I am sure some Euro-Carrier will also release an exclusive soon - probably Vodafone.

Everything I have heard is that Verizon won't release its version of 8700 until the middle of 2006, maybe June 2006.

I think I read in another thread that Verizon has the first shot at the Motorola Q maybe in January 2006, but I was not impressed with what I saw.
