I'm getting ready to get my first BB. I should get a non camera BB, so since I'm on Sprint, should I get the 8350i (curve)or 8830 (World)? I really won't use it for work related stuff, as much as I will use it for email and web browsing.
If I do get a BB with a camera, which of Sprints should I get? Do I bother holding out for the supposed Tour release?
Any advice would be great!

The 8350i is nicer then the 8830. Slightly smaller (although thicker) and keyboard is easier to type on.
Do you have Sprint or Nextel coverage where you are? They are still 2 different networks....Sprint's CDMA footprint is bigger (plus they can roam) then Nextel's iDEN network. Although the 8350i has WiFi....
The Tour is supposed to be out in July/August....if it were me, and I had patience, I'd wait. But I have no patience.

I'm currently on Sprint, but I think Nextel coverage is okay here too. I wouldn't use the Nextel DC feature, I was just wanting that phone for the non-camera version. So I guess I'd stay on the sprint network.
If I knew the Tour would come out in July, I'd wait, but if it's going to keep dragging out into the fall....can't wait that long.
That version of Curve might be a good starter BB for me then?

The 8330 Curve is also very nice, same nice keyboard as the 8350i. Is there a reason you don't want a camera?

My work doesn't allow a camera phone in the building, although it's not enforced very strictly, which is why I could wait for the tour. But, to play it safe, probably should be camera-less.

If you're certain you'll have Nextel iDEN coverage where you live, then I'd go with the 8350i non-camera. If you're not sure, or you find out you don't then go with the 8830 (which has come down in price, I believe).

The 8350i is the only one without a camera.

The 8830 doesn't have a camera either, but I don't like the keyboard as much.

based on your statements, if I were you, I would go with the 8830... it's EVDO network is much faster than the iDen's when it comes to browsing and if you decide to tether your BB to a PC. . . Form factor wise, it's a nicer, more legant looking device than the 8350i. but you should try them out at your local Sprint store for feel and function.

Another vote for the Blackberry 8830. Great reliable platform, no camera.
Do you need PTT? If so then get the 8350i. The Sprint 8350i can be purchased with or without the camera.

I vote the 8350i works great for me

I don't need PTT or DC. I just need to get email and web browse. So, 8830 is the better option? Why don't Sprint stores carry the phone in the store? I have to order it first? What a pain.

I thought the 8350i had a 2 MP camera. And did video recording. Maybe I'm smoking crack.:-o

The 8350i comes either with or without the camera.
