Cingular® PTT on BlackBerry 7290?

I called and spoke to a gentleman at one of the larger Cingular® retail stores in my state. I was inquiring, just for kicks, if he knew of the 8700 arriving soon. He said the only BlackBerry device he knew that was coming really soon was a PTT BlackBerry. He said he was certain it was a version of the 7290 that would PTT. Is he just confused on his facts and perhaps it is the 8700 and will have PTT capability?

Like all reps at Cingular retail stores, I think he was confused. Why would Blackberry release a PTT 7290 when they have the 8700 coming out that has a programmable button on the side. All Cingular then will need to do is get a software update when they decide to roll out PTT. Cingular never keeps 2 "Highend" BB devices at one time, once a new one is released they start to phase out the old one.
