I've a user at an organisation that has a BB, i think it's a 8800 but im not sure.
She uses Lotus Notes and after getting her laptop re-built, has lost all her Lotus Notes contacts.
They are all in her BB however.
Is there a way i can get them off the BB into Lotus Notes?
She doesn't know how to sync and doesn't appear to have a "cradle".

Does this organization have a BES?

She has to sync, simple as that. And be careful of her settings. If her laptop is set to overwrite her handheld, the empty laptop will erase the BlackBerry.

I don't have access to it tho.
Does that change the lay of land regarding getting her contacts back?

If she was on BES you would probably have a copy of her contacts from a backup. On BIS she's on her own.

Thanks.
I'm told that a sync will not copy the contacts into Lotus Notes.
And, that IT policy restricts the user from connecting the device to her pc, so we can't even export them that way.
Nice.

Wow. She's been fire walled away from her own contacts! It's the "perfect storm" of circumstances that have conspired to completely hose her. I don't see much hope. The last thing I can think of, and it's a long shot due to the IT Policy, is for her to install Google Sync and get her contacts sent to Google's cloud, then later set up Google on the new/rebuilt laptop and re-import them. I'd assume, however, that the IT Policy would restrict her from installing any app on her BB.

Another thought occurs to me. What if you modify the IT Policy to allow local sync. Push this new policy out to all users without saying anything to anybody. After she performs the sync, change the policy back and push it back to all the users. It could only be for a couple of hours and I doubt anyone would even realize it happened, except for this one user you would tell. She could have a 2 or 3 hour window to get it done.
