I have been on Verizon here in NYC for 5 years and can honestly say that I have happily switched over to Cingular. Why?
Verizon - BB 7750 w/o bluetooth or browser - $449 w/ 2 year contract
Cingular - BB 7290 with bluetooth and web browser - $149 after rebate!
Further, the BB plan is $5 cheaper per month and the voice plan is much cheaper. I made the change a few days ago and the service seems comprable to what I had with Verizon. Just my 2 cents.

Amazon also has a great special on the 7290 right now (and other blackberries).
After rebates the 7290 is $0 w/a 1 year service activation.
Just do a search for "Blackberry" on the Amazon site and you'll see it.

Mariog7,
Have you had the opportunity to travel out of NYC yet with the Cingular phone? I have been with VZW for a very long time and have never considered leaving because the coverage was so good. However, now that Cingular and AT&T have merged, I am hoping thatg they will have comparable coverage. I would consider switching, but I travel a lot in RI, MA, CT, NH, VT as well as to Florida and Arizona. I have yet to find a place (other than the Kancamaugus Highway in NH) that I do not have coverage with Verizon. I was just wondering if you had any Cingluar experience outside of the NYC area yet?
Thanks,
Christopher

Not yet, but after looking at the map, coverage seems very comprable. Ask me in a few weeks and I will have a definitive answer.
